The Shepparton Half Marathon delivers a fast, flat, and scenic 21.1km course that showcases the very best of Shepparton’s natural landscapes — from peaceful riverside trails to the tranquil lakes of Kialla. This AIMS certified course is ideal for anyone chasing a personal best, preparing for a full marathon, or simply wanting to enjoy a picturesque long-distance run.
Starting at Victoria Park Lake, runners head south along the winding pathways of the Goulburn and Broken Rivers. The early kilometres offer gentle, shaded stretches, following the curves of the river with the sounds of birdlife and rustling trees as the backdrop.
The course then enters the Kialla section, guiding runners through a 7km loop that circles three calm lakes. This open and peaceful section offers wide views across the water, with a short out-and-back segment at the southern end of the lakes before looping back toward Shepparton.
After completing the Kialla loop, runners cross the Goulburn River via the Midland Highway Causeway, offering sweeping river views before rejoining the riverside paths and heading back toward Victoria Park Lake.
With well-stocked aid stations spaced every 4 to 5 kilometres, participants are supported throughout the race with hydration, electrolytes, and plenty of enthusiastic volunteer encouragement.
The finish brings runners along the lakeside path into the heart of the festival, where family, friends, and supporters cheer them across the line and into the post-race celebrations.
